Hello, friend!
Meet Lindsay
I have been practicing photography for six years, and I consider myself a lifetime student of the trade. As a small business serving the precious people of Youngsville, Wake Forest, and Raleigh, I assist customers by curating your memories through light and airy, true-to-life portraiture to ensure your memories remain timeless as they hang on your walls. In addition to that, I have spent years working with other career photographers to hone my posing skills to help my clients feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera.
Just your hometown girl.
Where I’m coming from
Born and raised in a small, like really tiny, town in Mississippi, I grew up on a cattle farm where I learned that I was definitely not going to be a farmer. I knew from about the third grade that I wanted to be a teacher, and I would make my little sister sit in my bedroom and listen to my “lessons” each afternoon. That dream became a reality when I graduated (on my couch… due to the pandemic) from Mississippi State University with my degree in Secondary English Education. While I was there, I met the love of my life, Jacob, and we married the November after I graduated. After our wedding, we moved to Wake Forest, North Carolina, as Jacob was in pursuit of his Masters of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. I got my first job teaching high school English, and we settled into our tiny duplex. Little did we know, Wake Forest would become home for us even after Jacob graduated! We love the people and community here, and we cannot imagine being anywhere else today!
How I got here
Now, you may be asking where photography comes into play in this story, and to be honest, I’m not quite sure exactly when it happened! Growing up, I remember asking for disposable cameras and getting the photos developed with my mom at Walmart… the 2-week wait for photos was agonizing. Later on, I can remember begging for digital cameras for Christmas and taking photos of literally everything. I distinctly remember taking my little camera to the butterfly room in the museum and being fascinated that I could see the picture instantly, and I could… wait for it… ZOOM IN ON THE BUTTERFLY! I was enamored with the idea of preserving these beautiful moments so I could go back and remember how wonderful it was.
In my sophomore year of college, I bought my first “big girl” Canon camera, and I’d take it to all of my events, and I even convinced my friend to let me practice photographing her in the local park… Shoutout to Lainey… You’re a true friend! After figuring out my camera’s manual settings and a few years later, another friend’s photography business was beginning to blossom, and she took a chance on me. Peyton Neal Photography was the first photographer to hire me as an associate photographer, when I was mediocre, at best. She taught me how to care for clients, and hone my eye for composition. She let me experiment behind the camera, and I’m forever grateful for her tutelage, patience, and encouragement! She’s now an incredibly successful photographer in my hometown and a role model for life!
After years of being an associate photographer for several photography businesses, I decided to take a leap of faith and start my own business in March 2022. Since then, I have taken professional photography and editing classes from some of the “greats” in this business. I have grown my client base through hosting family mini-sessions in the spring and fall and by booking weddings and newborn sessions. While people may see this as my “side gig,” education provides an awesome corresponding career because I get to use my time after school, on Holidays, and during the summer to dedicate to photography! I am living my best life getting to talk about literature and writing during the day, and getting to meet amazing people from the community in the evenings, weekends, and summers. Praise the Lord for putting me in these incredible spaces to do what I love. It is a blessing I don’t take lightly!
Meet Jacob
The Man Behind the Curtain
You know when the wizard in The Wizard of Oz says, “Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain,” but he’s really the one making things happen when they should… That is Jacob! He does it all! You may see him in your session as an associate photographer or bag holder, or he may be behind the curtain acting as an accountant (bc taxes scare me). He’s my biggest cheerleader, and the one who encouraged me to start this business. He’s also my husband, so if he’s not at your session, he’s likely cooking dinner for us or walking our puppy, Dolly!
Our Mission
Through my lens, I aim to artistically preserve fleeting moments, crafting timeless visual narratives that celebrate authenticity, inspire connection, and reveal the beauty in every subject. While curating those visual narratives is important, the connections I make with the families and brides I meet are far more important to us. I meet so many great people through this profession, and I learn so much from y’all. I get to be with people in their most vulnerable moments, whether happy or sad, and we do not take that lightly!
While it is best to be a fly on the wall in those moments, sometimes, you just need a shoulder to cry on, a smile and a nod of reassurance, or a hand to hold. I consider it an honor to be those things for you, then slowly back away and capture the moment. I believe that God has blessed us abundantly more than we can imagine, so we thank Him and strive to serve Him daily. We aim to work as though we are working for the Lord, and we will give Him the glory for everything!
